Writing Journal

So Caleb's homework assignment this weekend was to bring home one of his composition notebooks and decorate it  for his writing journal. We needed to keep it very simple and flat due to wear and tear :o) Oh the things we could have done! I think it is still cute and way better than the way it looked before. Caleb picked out the papers and I went to work. I printed the "Caleb's Writing Journal" from my computer using one of my favorite fonts Bradley Hand at 36 pts in Bold, inked around it with some Memento Rich Cocoa and matted it on a piece of Recollections red cardstock, same cardstock was used for the spine along with some brown ribbon. The monkey paper came from a stack from Hobby Lobby called Cheekee Monkey, love that name! Fits Caleb perfectly with his love of monkeys, and he acts like one :o) The monkey faces are glossy!

Here is the finished notebook...

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!
All four of my boys will be back in school starting tomorrow :o)

Update on Ty :o)

So...after seeing the Ortho Doctor at Children's Hospital today, Ty is on a good road to recovery. There are 3 bones in each of your fingers, minus your thumb- only 2. He broke the middle bone in his pinky near the knuckle but not so severe that he would need a cast, YAY!!!! We are getting by with a removable brace for the next three weeks and then he should be perfectly good and healed. This was a much better decision than putting on a cast, now he can still go swimming versus not being able to get a cast wet. We were really excited about this :o) Brace during the day and while outside playing and at night we just have to "buddy tape" his pinky and ring finger together while sleeping. Not a bad gig! Here is look at his brace while he was telling my Mom all the details on the phone :o)

Keep your fingers crossed that this is it, I still have seven weeks left of Summer Break :o)

Hugs!

Another Broken Bone :o(

Do you ever feel like a chicken running around with it's head cut off? I do! Friday evening Ty was at his friend's house playing football. He came home around 7 PM like usual and got ready for the rest of the night to just chill out. While I was reading in my room around 8:15 PM he cam in and asked me to look at his finger because it really hurt. When I looked at it it was pretty nasty, lots of dark purple and black and really swollen. I told him it was probably broken but he should show Jeremy, his Step-Dad. He said the same thing so as it was too late to have it checked we went over to Urgent Care Saturday morning. They took a bunch of X-rays, about 7-8 or so and said it was broken. Since it was still pretty swollen they splinted it and said to ice it for a few days and then see the Ortho with a follow up and better splinting. That day is today :o) We go in this afternoon to see exactly what is going on.

No one ever told me that having boys was going to be this extreme, after 16 years! It seems like 2012 is not a good year for us :o)

Here is the trooper today...

Hope you all have a fantastic week and wish us luck that ours gets better :o)
Hugs!
